 On target earnings ~$360,000. $175,000 base + $180,000 target bonus + car allowance

Our purpose is to improve clinical outcomes for high-risk patients and prevent surgical failures of the cervical spine.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Area Sales Manager (ASM is responsible for all aspects of the sales function for an assigned territory.  As a key influencer in the field with limited “management behind a desk” the ASM will spend significant field face-time with Providence Medical Technology's customer base.  Recruiting, developing and leading a direct sales team and select distributor partners in order to meet and exceed sales quotas, drive key initiatives, and maintain compliance of stated administrative duties for their respective teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Support the company in its recruitment of a strong sales team (employee and select distributor partners).   
  • Build, develop, coach and mentor individual team members on performance, goal achievement, expectations and essential/basic/key job skills to ensure the achievement of individual goals and objectives.  Provide timely feedback and work corrections if performance is not meeting expectations.
  • Build "team" into daily work activities to ensure cross functional assistance with cases, etc. during times of leave, vacations, etc.
  • Work with direct employees and distributors in the field on a regular basis
  • Build Area business and revenue plan to include:  territory analysis, market opportunity, 30-60-90 objectives, call pattern and frequency, surgeon/hospital penetration, strategies, surgeon case funnel by product and required resources to execute plan
  • Perform selling functions which include:  introducing the product to new customers, coordinating product evaluations, providing technical support, and creating financial proposals for hospitals.
  • Provide telephone/administrative support to all direct employees and Area distributors throughout the sales process
  • Provide the direct employee and distributors with appropriate information on new product developments, new competitive products and selling strategies, and current applicable medical literature
  • Assist with the design and implementation of appropriate Area Sales metrics
  • Build solid and long term relationships with leading spine surgeons
  • Accelerate Area revenue and market penetration of PMT products
  • Successfully lead your sales team to meet (and exceed) the achievement of regional quarterly and yearly sales objectives.
  • Acquire in-depth clinical knowledge with all PMT products to assure SME for use in surgical case-coverage (when needed) and to provide the highest degree of value to area sales teams.
  • Provide regular weekly and timely feedback to the VP of Sales, on a variety of topics including sales performance, market feedback, new target accounts, ideas regarding sales growth, sales management and distributor sales rep evaluations, and new product development opportunities.
  • Provide formal communication of customer needs to the VP, Sales the purpose of improving existing product and developing new products.
  • Plan and coordinate Area sales meetings and activities as warranted.
  • Maintain expenses within budgeted quarterly allocations
  • Implement successful surgeon training courses as new technology is introduced.
  • Drive 100% compliance with all stated administrative requirements including use of CRM, Market intelligence, inventory management, and sales enablement technology.
  • Travel 75%+ of time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field
  • 5+ years in the Medical Device Industry,  preferably in spine
  • 1-2 years hands on sales management experience
  • Proven track record of mentoring, developing and driving a sales team to meet/exceed sales goals
  • Proficient and accurate with word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), charting, flow charting and graphs
  • Strong working knowledge of sales applications:  Salesforce.com, Allego, Google apps, DropBox
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.  
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond articulately to questions
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of problem solving and analytical skills
