Lane Major has spent more than 25 years building and scaling medical technology companies through startup, venture capital, private equity, public company, and strategic acquisition stages. Along the way, he has worked shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the world's most sophisticated scientists, surgeons, and business architects, creating a Top 5 global spine company that achieved a $1B+ valuation while transforming the lives of more than a million people worldwide.
Lane's journey began in the early 2000s, before co-founding K2M Group Holdings (NASDAQ: KTWO) in 2004. It culminated in K2M's $1.4B sale to Stryker Corp (NYSE: SYK) in 2018, a maneuver that nearly doubled Stryker Spine's legacy business and positioned the combined brands as the world's third-largest spine company. Following the acquisition, Lane served as Vice President and General Manager of Stryker's Global Spine Business, building and integrating approximately $2 billion in investment across core spine, biologics, robotics, navigation, and other enabling technologies.
His tenure across the two brands included helping architect and drive 14 years of uninterrupted revenue growth, expansion into 40+ countries, 750+ patents and 100+ FDA-cleared products, and K2M's 2014 listing on the Nasdaq.
Prior to joining Providence, Lane served as Chief Executive Officer of Zavation Medical Products.
Lane also serves as an advisor on a number of private boards, including See All AI, BarTrack, Inc., and the Gilliam Center for Entrepreneurship at James Madison University (JMU). He holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a B.B.A. from JMU.
